Dish towel Cafe Aprons

I think this is the first tutorial that Missy ever e-mailed me saying that we should get together and try them.  This tutorial from Inspired Ideas inspired me to pull out my sewing machine (which I had only ever used once) and actually create something.  Honestly this was the 2nd thing (well 3rd if you count the windsock I sewed in 7th grade) I had ever sewn.  The tutorial is easy-to-follow and this is a very doable project.  I had so much fun making this dishtowel apron and giving it to my BFF for her birthday that I have made several since for gifts (way cute to give with any cooking utensil, cookbook, or even just a favorite recipe).  I have tweaked the pattern a little by making the waistband longer- I like the look of wrapping it around and tying it in front (like in the picture of the little girl).  Really if you ever wished you could sew, with this tutorial you can!

The only thing I sew is scrapbook pages but thanks to the warm, fuzzy feeling this post gave me (it couldn't have been the mention of me and the darling yellow cafe apron I love, could it?) I'm giving it a go! You are SO inspiring! Love you!
