Easy Baby Owl Beanie
I am loving this little Owl Beanie from All Things Heart and Home. I am even happier about the fact that she purchased the beanie from Hobby Lobby (for less than $4) and then embellished it- great idea. Remember the tutorial for making a Yo-Yo?? Now's the time to give that a try!

Seven Petal Crochet Flower
I love crocheting, it makes me feel not so guilty for sitting in front of the TV at night (and I must mention here how extremely happy I am that the new season of Glee has started). Well, I'm loving this Seven Petal Crochet Flower from Little Birdie Secrets. Last spring I used her pattern for a 5-petal flower (and she even has a video tutorial) to add some cuteness to my beanies- can't wait to try out this 7 petal flower. I love how she attached it to some ribbon for a bookmark- the perfect addition when you're giving a book as a gift, or what a cute party favor when it's your turn to host book group!

Yarn Lei
Wouldn't it be fun to turn one of those ordinary summer BBQs into a Luau? Nothing fancy, just a few simple things to make dinner fun! I think in celebration of the end of school, we'll pull out the Tiki torches and decorate the patio with sidewalk chalk flowers and pineapples.
And I'll make these cute yarn leis with my kiddos while the hubby fires up the grill. Aren't they adorable? Want to know the best part? No crochet hooks involved... just your fingers! Cool, huh? Thanks to Tiffany from Simply Modern Mom, featured at Salty Pineapple - both great sites you've gotta check out!

Simple Crochet Headband
I just learned to crochet and my friend found this tutorial/pattern for a super quick and easy headband- plus super cute. I was able to whip one out on an hour long car drive (no worries, I was the passenger). Creative Yarn has lots of free patterns (crochet & knit) and links to cute items in her Etsy shop... I can spend some serious time checking out this blog.
