School Paper Organizing (with a free download!!)

Anyone that knows me, knows that I completely lack the organizing gene.  And paperwork is my kryptonite.  I just don't know what to do with the endless incoming paper, so it just piles up.  The thought of adding school papers back into the mess makes me reach for the Mylanta (or the Xanax).  Seriously.

I love this mail organizer (also perfect for holding the homework assignments in progress), but I was thrilled to see this school paper organizer from iHeart Organizing for all those reports and cute art projects I just can't toss (and report cards).  Just a simple file box, but Jen provides the free download for the labels and the coversheets (hooray!).  One file box for each kid - one folder for each grade.  Neatly labeled, neatly contained.  Love it.  Thank you, thank you, Jen!  So glad you came to my rescue!!

Ballard Inspired Paper Holder

This Ballard Inspired Paper Holder is truly amazing!  Beckie at Infarrantly Creative gives great step-by-step instructions how to make your own.  She makes it seem so easy, I might just have to step outside of my comfort zone and give this one a try.

Can Wrap

Have I got a unique Father's Day gift idea for you!  Emily at Toad's Treasures shows how to make this crafty can wrap HERE - isn't that a creative idea??  You could also fill this with gardening tools as a manly alternative to a garden apron.  You can tailor this to suit your main-man's hobby (um, I think I need to make the pockets big enough to hold the tv remotes and I can put the playstation controllers in the middle... hee hee).

Plastic Bag Holder

So I have a very functional plastic bag holder from IKEA, but this one is WAY cuter!!  I love her fabric choices, too.  Thanks to Ashley at Make It and Love It for this tutorial!

Clipboard Chore Chart

With summer coming upon us, it seems that chore charts are everywhere!  I love the magnetic ones where the kids move the magnets over to the "finished" side.  I think this magnetic Clipboard Chore Chart from A girl and a glue gun is darling!!  There are two small boys (and one really big one ;) ) who really need this for the summer!!

Kids Cutlery Tray

Check out this cute Kids Cutlery Tray - what a great idea!  This will definitely help in my qwest to make the kids help out more (and to get more organized).  I think I'll have my kiddos help make this, too - that will really get them excited to use it!!  Shouting out a big thanks to Susan at Crafterhours for this awesome tutorial!

Mail Organizer

Okay, I have a problem to confess... I have a messy kitchen.  Yes, I always have a messy kitchen.  I can usually stay on top of the dishes, it's just the mail.  It takes over my cute island.  Seriously, ask Kimi.  Or anyone who knows me.  It's quite a sight.  Well, I'm vowing to change.  I am going to get organized!

I am inspired by this mail organizer.  Isn't it adorable?  This project has minimal sewing - plus I get to use my glue gun.  Sounds like the perfect project for me.

I seriously think this will help (really, anything would help at this point).  Click HERE for this super-duper mail organizer.  One slight change I'm going to make:  I don't really have a whole lot of outgoing mail.  I think I'll make my top slot for coupons or items to-be-filed, bottom slot for bills.  Thanks to Noodlehead for another great idea!!

To-Do List

I am definitely a list-maker. Something about crossing off a task helps me feel productive.  I also have a TERRIBLE short-term memory (my hubby will testify), so lists help me remember (funny, anyone else have a Sunday School lesson on remembering?).

I was so excited to see this To-Do List made from a cheap frame.  Here's a shout-out to Eighteen25 for this fab tutorial - she even includes a free download for the checklist insert here.

Car Organizer

Anyone gearing up for a road trip this summer?  Pretty sure you're gonna want to take this car organizer with you.  I've got to get going on mine so I'm ready for the drive to Lake Powell - I'm going to make 4!!  Thanks to Alicia at The Mayfly for this idea!!

Fabric Cord Ties

Tangled up cords is one of my biggest pet peeves- they honestly drive me crazy.  This smart idea from A Girl and a Glue Gun solves the cord issue in an oh-so-stylish way.  As an added bonus: although these are designed to be sewn, she also shows you how you can hot glue them.
